Venue 17 - 52 Harcourt Road
Elle started experimenting with colour and texture over 15 years ago. She uses combinations of inks, acrylics, watercolours and an eclectic range of surfaces.
One of the first pieces she produced was exhibited in the Folk House cafe and was bought by a banker. Sadly, she didn’t know he was a banker when he asked her to name her price... Now her [still modestly priced] work can be seen in homes and offices around the UK, in Dubai and California. Inspiration can come from anywhere: an angry sea or an architectural detail, the day’s weather, dramatic cliff tops or an impressive skyline glimpsed in passing. Elle’s highly individual contemporary works of art are numbered, rather than named. This approach has proved very popular as it invites the viewer to decide on their own title for the artwork. Each piece of work is original and signed with its number, her initials, the year it was created, and an inked thumb imprint for authenticity. |
Elle will be exhibiting with Jo Hearn at 52 Harcourt Road.
